YAPILACAK OLAN SUNUMLARIN BAŞLIKLARI ve KISA ÖZETLERİ:

SEMİNER 1: Some Central Concepts in Analytical Urban Morphology (KET Urban Morphology Yüksek Lisans dersi kapsamında, 22 Mart 2016, Taşkışla 127 no’lu salon, 10:30-12:30): This illustrated lecture will explore several key concepts that have shaped the methodology of analytical urban morphology in the British tradition.  It will review the conceptual underpinnings of the primary methods used, the key sources of evidence used in analysis, and the resulting outcomes that deepen understanding of the diversity of urban forms over time and space, and the utility of this knowledge for planning.

SEMİNER 2: Problems in the Cross-Cultural Study of Urban Form (Tüm Mimarlık Fakültesi öğretim üyeleri için 23 Mart 2016, Taşkışla 109 no’lu salon, 12:30 -13:30,): Drawing on the visitor scientist’s own research, this lecture will present case studies of attempts to study formative processes in built environments of cities in widely diverse cultural contexts.  This work will focus on applications of urban fringe belt theory, the variable influence of historical urban frames and fixation lines in the urban fabric, and the determination of morphological regions within cities.  Examples will be presented from work in Italy, the United States, Brazil, and China.

SEMİNER 3: The Role of Technological Revolutions in Shaping American Cities (ŞBP The City in History Lisans dersi kapsamında, 23 Mart 2016, Taşkışla 213 no’lu derslik, 11:00 -12:30): This illustrated lecture will examine the influence of waterpower, steam power, electricity, and the internal combustion engine in determining the form of American cities over the last two centuries.  It will consider both the patterns of geographically differential growth of cities in the American urban system brought about by these innovations, as well as the revolutions in the spatial form of urban built environments that these technical revolutions produced.
