İKSV Tasarım Bienali yan etkinliği olarak gerçekleştirmekte oldugumuz seminer serisi ikinci haftasinda Jacob de Baan ile devam ediyor.

Bio:

Jacob de Baan is a passenger. He travels between Amsterdam and Istanbul, coming and going, flying, walking and biking on the Dutch canals or along the Bosphorus.

He is a designer and he gets inspired by light. Twilight to dusk, morning to evening, natural light to artificial one, eventually reflected on the North Sea or on the Golden Horn.

He is a Dutch creative professional with more than 25 years of experience in product design and design management for companies and institutions such as VAN GOGH MUSEUM,  POLS POTTEN, PHILIPS and HEINEN DELFTS BLAUW. He has a track record as an design manager and project leader in developing processes of new corporate identities. Jacob de Baan is passionate about lighting and his designs are commercially commissioned by international design labels. His approach is to translate human experience into corresponding design solutions. In all his projects he pays particular attention to ecology and sustainability. Jacob de Baan studied at the Technical University Delft and at Gerrit Rietveld Academy. After his study he worked for frog design and in 1995 he started his own studio. Jacob de Baan is a guest-teacher at Technical University Delft and at Istanbul Technical University and was leader of the Post Graduate Course Industrial Design at Royal Academy of Art (now Master ID) in The Hague. His works are in the collection of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
